Classified Adverts - Free new Member Service

Dear Members,

We have just added a new free member service to our website.

Classified Adverts, is now available for you to advertise your products / services / needs / requirements.

Non members will not be able to access this section of our website.

For now there is just two categories available namely: Items / Services for Sale and Items / Services Required. If the service is being adequetly used we can always add other categories such as property, jobs, etc. Just leave your comments here at the bottom of this blog and we'll see what we can do.

How to use the Classified Adverts Service.

To make your own advert start by clicking Classifieds from the main menu.

Then select the + Add Listing option as shown below.

Then fill out the details of your advert as seen in this example.

Some useful tips on filling your advert out.

1. Use a catchy title to get attention

2. Use the Bold, Italic, Underline, and Web Link icons in the description area to highlight the details of your advert.

3. Provide enough details to explain your product / service / offering / need, clearly

4. Make sure you pick the right category for your advert! (Are you buying or selling?)

5. If you have a Price / Preţ then enter it. You can use Euros, RON, or whatever you wish, e.g. "Negotiable", "Make me an offer"

NOTE: The price line is important as it will also appear on the display page of the advert for all members.

6. Enter a phone number only if you are comfortable to do so. Remember this will be visible to all members of James Joyces Social Network.

7. Enter a web address if you have one.

8. Finally, make sure you SUBMIT your advert.

Adding photos to your advert.

Once you have submitted your advert you should see a screen similar to below.

Your advert is now submitted and live and you can continue browsing the website or go to the main menu and check how your advert looks. You can however do a nummber of other things including:

1. Add Photos

2. Edit your advert in case you made some mistakes

3. Or Delete your advert.

Options 2 and 3 are obvious, so we will look here at doing more with your listings by adding photos.

Click on Add Photos as shown above and select from the location on your computer which contains the pictures you want to up load to your advert. You can upload up to 8 photos. Select your images one at a time.

VERY IMPORTANT: Please ensure your images are in JPEG Format and no greater in resolution than 640 x 480 pixels

Images not conforming to these requirements will not display or work correctly. If you have any problems or need help with this then please just email Admin

When you have uploaded your photo correctly it should look like the screen below.

Clicking on view photos will display your advert photos and give you an option to add more photos. Additionally you can then determine which of your advert photos will be displayed as the Featured Photo. You can also delete photos if you wish.

So there you have it. Hopefully this guide will be useful to you if you wish to advertise your products / services / needs to other members.

Remember it is a new feature and not 100% tested as yet. So if you find anything, such as problems with this instruction, or problems in making an advert please leave a comment on this blog and we will deal with it as soon as we can,
