I'm Jon, the monosyllabic half of the Rain Dogs.  Here to talk to you about Musician's Night.  

It's a good idea, we like it and we're not the only ones.  We (Gabi and Jon, the Dogs) and Aidan have had some very enthusiastic feedback from those that attended, and even those that didn't (my Dad, for one); this wasn't only coming from musicians either.  It's all been rather encouraging.  

If you didn't attend, let me brief you.  It was an experiment, no-one else is doing this in Bucharest as far as we know. It started at around 10 when people began to show up, Rain Dogs did their thing then people took to the stage, played music and sang.  People cheered, people drank and people heard Zombie three times and it finished when we got kicked out.  My friend, Alex, took a bunch of photos that you can see on the Home page.  

It could have been much bigger too.  We had entire bands show up, realise that they wouldn't all be able to play together and leave, promising to come to the next one, we had musicians that had conflicting commitments and couldn't make it, we had some frantic last-minute promotion that was too little too late, but the word is out now and most of these have made a commitment to come to the next one, this Sunday.  

So if you weren't able to make it to the last one, this is your big chance, get your guitar, accordion, violin, tambourine or tin whistle, put something together and join us here on the evening of Sunday, July 31st.  If you did make it to the last one, bring your friends.

Right then, Pay Attention!!

We have a small stage at Joyce's: it will accommodate three sitting at a push.  

Remember that it's a MUSICIAN'S night so the idea is that you get on the stage and play or sing.  

Musicians / performers need to register before the event, by getting in touch with the bar, in order to book a spot on stage and be eligible for the Special Musician's Menu (one free drink plus cheap shit). 

And last of all, you don't have to be a musician to attend.  If you like listening to live music, we'll be playing some.
